Meet Our Team

Dr. Rochelle Clark

I am a 2014 graduate from Kansas State University and have been working at Farview Veterinary Hospital since June of 2014. I have been very lucky to be welcomed into this family and enjoy working with them every day. An added benefit of this practice is the quality of clients we have, they are exceptional and trust us with the care of their four-legged family members. My special interests are in soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and radiology.

I married my best friend, Dustin, in 2015 and we have loved starting our family here in Independence. We got our first pet, Archie in early 2016 and he is Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix. Archie loves meeting new people and pets, and his best friend is one of the clinic cats named Dave. They love playing when Archie gets to come to work with me. My pets are family and I take care of my patients as I would my own.

In July of 2022, we welcomed our daughter Samantha.  Archie is enjoying his role as a big brother, especially during meal times. She is the light of our lives and we are so blessed to have her.

Dr. Christopher Olson

I am a 2016 graduate from the University of Missouri-Columbia and have been working at Farview Veterinary Hospital since June of 2016. I grew up in Independence, just down the road from Farview, and my family and I have always brought our pets here. We have always loved the attentive and caring attitudes of the doctors and staff and I am overjoyed to have been welcomed as a doctor here upon my graduation from veterinary school. I have felt at home here since my first day and I love the adorable patients and caring clients that I'm privileged to see every day. My special interests are in special imaging (such as radiology) and alternative medicine (such as laser therapy).

I am the father of 2 beautiful girls; Aria and Aurora. They are the lights of my life and the challenges of fatherhood are both welcome and numerous. I also have a Labrador-Heeler mix named Anastasia, who is growing older right alongside me, and a young orange male cat named Pumpkin. Both have their share of issues and are a constant reminder of the importance of Veterinary medicine for me.

Dr. Laura Gatrost

I graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Since graduating I have worked in general veterinary practice in the Kansas City area. I joined the Farview family in 2022 and have enjoyed being a part of it. My special interests include soft tissue surgery. Before becoming a veterinarian, I was a registered nurse in the NICU.

I live with my husband, son and our small petting zoo, which includes three dogs, one cat, four goats, two sheep and five chickens.

Dr. Melanie Ray

I grew up in Wichita, KS and attended Kansas State University for undergraduate studies and veterinary school. I graduated from veterinary school in 2014. Since graduation, I have worked in small animal clinics in the Kansas City area and Houston, TX. I joined the team at Farview Veterinary Hospital in 2023. While I enjoy all aspects of caring for pets, my particular interests are soft tissue surgery, geriatric and end of life care, and behavior.

I married my husband Cory in 2020. Together we have 3 dogs, a cat, and a horse. We enjoy attending Chiefs games together and trying new restaurants in Kansas City. My personal hobbies and interests include pickleball, KSU basketball and football, reading historical fiction and fantasy novels, and studying the Bible.
